Dairy Free Hot Cocoa Mix
Homemade hot cocoa is way easy to make, kid-approved delicious, and only has 5 ingredients. Make this ahead of the holiday season for all your cozy-by-the-fire nights.
What you'll need:
2 cups cane sugar
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup coconut milk powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla bean powder
How to make it:
Whisk all ingredients together in a medium mixing bowl. Store in an airtight container or glass jar in the cupboard.
When you're ready to make your hot cocoa, add 2 Tablespoons to 10-12 ounces of water, or milk of choice for a creamier version, to a saucepan. Heat over medium-low until sugar is dissolved (about 1-2 minutes), stirring frequently. Do not scald the milk.
Serve hot.
Tip: To make a large batch, for example, if you’re making 4 glasses, heat about 4½ to 5 cups of milk and ½ cup of cocoa mix over medium-low heat, stirring frequently until smooth and warm.
Enjoy!
