Quinn’s Rapunzel Party

A child in a princess costume at a party with a purple theme. The room has a purple and gold balloon arch with a golden curtain, a tiered cake stand with cupcakes and fairy decorations, a counter with snacks like cheese and fruit, and a plant in a pot. Another person in a purple outfit is partially visible. The setting is a kitchen.

Our baby girl turned F I V E !! We can hardly believe it. When we were planning the theme, Quinny didn’t hesitate at a Rapunzel party. It’s her latest movie obsession, after all. Since we invited Belle to her big sister’s fifth birthday party, it was only fitting to have Rapunzel join us for Quinn’s. Princess Party Pals always delivers an amazing theatrical, enchanting experience. Let me tell you - we were beyond impressed with Annie as our guest. She played a wonderfully fun and energetic Rapunzel!

She came prepared with lots of activities that filled over an hour-and-a-half of time; from face painting, musical storytime, red carpet dress-up, a craft and more. The girls had such a magical time. Awe-struck that they got to hang out with a real princess.

I created a cupcake tower to represent Rapunzel’s hidden forest tower. I picked up most of the items from a craft store. The directions are below.

If you're in the Minneapolis metro area, I highly recommend having a character entertain at your child's next birthday party. They’re not limited to princess themed, so definitely check them out!

It's all relative, but the pricing was affordable, too - especially considering the entire party was itinerated, and activities were provided by PPP. Knowing how exceptional the entertainment was has me back for lots more parties to come!

If you do hire a character for your next kid party, I recommend inviting the parents to come hang as well. It's basically an intimate theater show in your own living room! Absolutely amazing.

How to Make Rapunzel’s Cupcake Tower

  1. Gather all of the items, plus two Pringles cans. Empty/eat the chips and wipe out the cans. I filled one with clementines so the base was sturdy. (I wanted rocks but it was snowing so I chose not to go outside.) Don’t glue that lid shut if you use perishable items for weight.

  2. Wrap the cans with the brick scrapbook paper. Secure with hot glue or super glue.

  3. Paint the roof of the bird feeder in Lavender. I mixed the Warm White and Buttermilk together around the base of the feeder. I also tapped the brush around the brick scrapbook paper to create a stucco affect.

  4. Glue the base of the feeder to the 6” round cake base. Try to get it in the middle as close as possible. Set aside.

  5. Glue one gold 12” cake board to the weighted brick tower can for the base.

  6. Glue the other gold 12” cake board to the lid of that tower. Don’t glue the lid on.

  7. Align the two towers and mark around where you want to glue it down. Glue them together. I also wrapped the trim with some ribbon I had at home to cover the cardboard edges for a more finished look.

  8. Glue the 6” cake board and bird feeder to the top brick tower. Trace the lid for a center guide. Secure the lid with a ring of glue.

  9. Use one long stem of the vines at a time and wrap it around the tower. Hot glue the vines to where you want it to stay. Cut off smaller pieces for filler spots as needed.

  10. Add real flowers as a final touch around the vines just before the party.
