Steak & Boursin Crostini
Tender slices of perfectly cooked steak meet creamy Boursin cheese in this elegant yet easy appetizer. Layered on crisp crostini and finished with a sprinkle of fresh herbs or shaved parmesan, these bites are perfect for date nights, dinner parties, or any moment that calls for something a little extra. Rich, savory, and packed with flavor—you’ll want to make a meal out of them.
What you'll need:
1 baguette, sliced into ½-inch pieces
Olive oil, for brushing
1 small beef steak (like sirloin, filet, or flank), about 8 oz
Salt & black pepper, to taste
1 (5.2 oz) package Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs cheese
Fresh herbs (like parsley, chives, or basil), chopped for garnish
Optional drizzle:
2 tbsp olive oil
1 clove garlic, gently smashed
1 tsp fresh thyme or rosemary, chopped
How to make it:
Preheat oven to 400°F. Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush lightly with olive oil. Toast in the oven for 7–9 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.
Pat steak dry and season with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with a little oil. Cook steak 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare (pull off the heat at 125°F, or 135°F for medium). Let rest on a plate for 5–10 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.
Optional garlic herb drizzle: In a small pan over low heat, warm olive oil with garlic and herbs until fragrant (about 2–3 minutes). Remove from heat.
Spread each crostini with a generous swipe of Boursin cheese. Top with a slice of steak. Drizzle lightly with the warm garlic herb oil if using, and finish with a sprinkle of fresh herbs.
Arrange on a platter and serve warm or at room temperature.
Enjoy!
